Majesty Outdoors Expands to San Antonio

There is something deeply important about showing up for a young person. Not fixing everything for them. Not pretending that we have all the answers. Simply being willing to stand beside them, teach them what we know, listen when they speak, correct them when necessary, encourage them when they fail, and remind them that their life has meaning.

That is what Majesty Outdoors is bringing to San Antonio.

We are incredibly grateful to announce the opening of our newest Majesty Outdoors chapter in San Antonio, Texas. And while we are excited to see Majesty growing, growth itself is not the goal.

Faithfulness is.

Another Place to Show Up

It is easy to look at a new chapter as another location on a map. We see people. We see young men and women who are still discovering who they are and what kind of person they will become. We see mothers and fathers doing everything they can to raise their children well. We see families carrying burdens most people will never know about.

And we see an opportunity for Christians to do something remarkably simple:

Show up.

Jesus did not conduct His ministry from a distance.

He walked with people.

He ate with them. He listened to them. He taught them. He corrected them. He had compassion on them. He entered into the ordinary circumstances of their lives and called them toward something greater. Ultimately, He gave His life for them.

We cannot love people exactly as Christ loved us. But because He first loved us, we can spend our lives learning to love our neighbors more faithfully. Sometimes that can look surprisingly ordinary. Sometimes it looks like taking a kid fishing.

Why the Outdoors?

There is something about being outside that strips away many of the things we use to distract ourselves. The water doesn't care what shoes you're wearing. A fish doesn't care how many followers you have. And when you are sitting beside someone waiting for a bite, eventually you run out of small talk.

That is often where something meaningful begins.

You talk.

You listen.

You laugh.

You learn patience when nothing bites. You learn humility when someone younger than you catches the biggest fish. You learn responsibility when equipment needs to be cared for.

You learn perseverance when something doesn't work the first time. And somewhere in all of those ordinary moments, relationships begin to form. That relationship matters far more to us than the fish.

Our Children Need More Than Entertainment

There is no shortage of things competing for the attention of the next generation.

But a young person does not merely need to be entertained.

They need to know that their life matters.

They need responsibility.

They need people who believe enough in them to expect something from them.

They need grace when they fail and encouragement to stand back up.

They need examples of men and women who keep their word, serve others, admit when they are wrong, work hard, forgive freely, and remain faithful when life becomes difficult.

Most importantly, they need Jesus.

Majesty Outdoors cannot give a young person a perfect life.

Neither can a mentor.

What we can do is walk beside them and point toward the One who gives life its meaning.

Jesus Christ did not promise us a life without hardship. In fact, He was remarkably honest about the cost of following Him.

He calls us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him.

That is not a message of comfort without responsibility. It is an invitation into a life worth living.

San Antonio, We're Here

So this new chapter is not simply about expanding Majesty Outdoors. It is another place where we get to serve. Another community where mentors can step forward.

Another place where a young person might catch their first fish, learn something difficult, hear that someone is proud of them, ask a question about God, or simply discover that there are people willing to keep showing up. We do not know every story that will come from the San Antonio chapter.

God does.

Our responsibility is to be faithful with what He has placed in front of us.

So to the families of San Antonio: welcome.

To the men and women wondering whether they have something worth giving: you do.

To those who have prayed, donated, volunteered, mentored, served, or simply told someone about Majesty Outdoors: thank you.

And above everything else, we give the glory to Jesus Christ.

May this chapter never exist merely to make Majesty Outdoors larger.

May it exist to make Christ known.

And may we be faithful enough to follow wherever He leads us next.
